New Islamist terrorist profile or just a disturbed person?

4.8.2016

This is a small article describing my point of view on "mental illness" as authorities tend to describe lately attacks launched by people all over Europe and Israel as actions coming from a person in such state.

Terorrist profile of a radical islamist describes a person who has a different perception on logic and baptizes his action with a "divine seal" to accomplish his goals. In a way someone would say that he might be mentally disturbed. Something that we are regularly hear/watch when an attack takes place in the West.

First we need to think what constitutes mental illness. Most people with a disturbed mental state are rarely murderers. A small percentage that indeed killed and injured others, did it under pressure or as a way to enjoy their lust on pain/blood/etc. The last ones are called serial killers and first ones are killers of passion.

However today when we see these attackes taking place by people with knives and machettes, none of the above is valid. They are certainly not under bad temper or pressure in order to be pushed to crime. For example an employee who lost his job is under pressure but he still has his mind and he is , most of the times, handled. This is not valid on these attacks. There is no reasoning and they seem to do it in a short killing spree. Not to mention that right after their actions they tend to evade arrest by running away. Somehow this does not look like a sign of an ill-minded person.

Second now is the ammount of similarities those persons have. They are all of M.East and Africa origin who are usually 2nd or 3rd generation immigrants , taking citizenship of their hosting country. They are also all muslims which after some time, seems that it was their "foundation" in life as they attented regularly preachings and prayers.

It is quite strange to not identify the pattern on this raid of attacks.

As a profile of these attackers you have someone who is usually in his early 20's to mid 30's , of mulsim belief, killing with no apparent goal and has no signs of mental illness, rather than his killing actions against many.

Somehow, it seems that this story does not stick. Too many coincidences and lack of evidences to support such stories.

Theory is obvious here , but since i too, do not have evidence but only strong indications please bear with me.

Most of the attackers are either connected to radical circles or self-influenced by news and internet clips/tutorials of radicalists. Their intention is to become something that will make them distinquish and povide them with a "divine status" which in western terms is often , mistakenly, taken as a sign of mental disturbance.

States and authorities have already formed a profile of those attackers and it is not something they want to share. It is pointing out that profile has some characteristics describing most immigrants and most people who have roots at countries with a strong tie to radical Islam. I am not talking about the citizenships but about the nationalities.. their origin.

If now states give to media such a profile to describe and in a way warn citizens it is only logical that this will cause a hate wave based on racial profiling which will make things even worse probably. So they decide to give the picture of a person who is unstable and launched an attack because of that. They know that this a mockery, they also know that this wont hold forever, but at this point, they need to buy time in order to build a plan to counteract and prevent this new form of terrorist. Do not fool ourselves. This profile is similar to the one terrorists have. There are no real differences. But, still,.. time is needed to deal with this new model and at the same time try to avoid a hot race confrontation which, also, wont end well.
